Tuesday, February 27, 2018, Airborne & Special Operations Museum, 100 Bragg Blvd, Fayetteville, North Carolina
Imagine being the first soldier to stand in the door of an airplane and jump, creating what we know as paratroopers today. Beginning in 1940, journey through time to learn how the Airborne and Special Operations arms of the U.S. military originated and have changed. In the lobby, view two fully deployed parachutes to understand the size and scope of this part of the service. Enjoy an instructional video and participate in the optional simulator experience “Experience the Legend.”**
Participants may arrive between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on February 27. Admission to the museum is FREE for children; $1 for parents. Admission to the simulator experience is $6/ticket.
Registration deadline is midnight February 25, 2018. Registrations are transferable but non-refundable.
** Experience the Legend: This simulator ride physically moves on a pitch of up to 18 degrees, taking the rider on a tour from World War II to the modern day. Scenes in the movie include flying into Normandy on D-Day, traveling with the Rangers in Kabul, and quietly moving through Iraq with a Special Forces team. Ride lasts approximately 5 minutes and will be available to our group from 11:30 until 1 pm.
We would like to invite you to Elleina Papageorgiou’s Birthday Book Launch Bash! This is a chance to celebrate Elleina’s first published book and for you to hear more about the process and ask questions (as well as celebrate her 14th birthday 🙂 ). If you have a child interested in becoming an author, this would be a great time of learning and inspiration! With dedication and commitment, it is now easier and more economical than ever to become a published author thanks to platforms like Create Space that allow for printing on demand.
Please note the time and location on the invitation, and be sure to also RSVP so we know how many to expect! Hors d’oeuvres will be served. Please fill out the form at www.Elleina.com/media (link below) by February 8th. Hope to see you there!
