Our Home Schooling Consultants:
Danielle has been homeschooling, or “lifeschooling,” for 14 years and has run the WINGS Homeschool Group for the past nine, and has also run the Homeschool Activities Fair for the past seven years and in 2016, added the Lifeschooling Conference as part of that event. She has a passion for helping other homeschoolers learn how to homeschool in a way that does not compete with family life, but actually enhances it…homeschooling done in a spirit of freedom, not legalism. Her desire is to see more families set free from the world’s expectations of what education is and to discover that God has made each family unique and has also placed in each of their children special gifts and desires that He wants to use.
The verse that guides the Papageorgious in their pursuit of lifeschooling is Matthew 6:33, “But seek FIRST the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and ALL these things will be added to you.” (Emphasis mine).
Danielle has been married to her amazing husband, Jon, the “I.T. Superhero,” for 16 years and they have three talented and fun children on earth, Konur (15), Elleina (12), and Korban (5), as well as a baby girl, Myla Grace (born at 14 weeks) in heaven. Konur has released a computer game online (KhanAcademy.com) and is very interested in history, math, and computer programming. Elleina is a gifted artist and writer who recently wrote a novel (soon to be released, God-willing). She also has a serious interest in acting and is playing the part of “Kate” in a Christian movie called The Art of Parenting, and playing the lead role of “Evangeline” this year in Charlotte Christian Theater’s production of “Rumpelstiltskin.” Korban is busy learning from days of extensive playing and imagining, but currently shows great interest in music and math. He is also starting to do a little bit of structured learning.
Danielle’s specific areas of expertise are lifeschooling and developing one’s own homeschooling philosophy. She most enjoys helping parents overcome their fears of homeschooling and to learn to seek God for direction. She believes every child has remarkable gifts and the ability to do much for God’s kingdom. While she is able to help with any aspect of homeschooling, she is more of a “big picture” person and best at being a visionary.

Christy is the mother of five children ages 3 to 21. In addition, she is raising two nephews aged 8 and 9. Christy has been homeschooling since 2009. She has taught her own children, children from other families, and a class for a local homeschool teen group. She has graduated two students from her school, with a third expected to graduate this year. She currently has children in preschool, kindergarten, third, fourth, fifth, and twelfth grades.
Christy holds a bachelors degree in education with a current North Carolina teaching license with several certifications for elementary and special education. Christy chose to homeschool her family following a twelve-year career in public education, including ten years in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.
Christy believes strongly in the ability of all children to learn. As home educators, our most important job is to assist our children in identifying their gifts and calling while instilling a love of learning in order to prepare them for adulthood.

I never set out to homeschool; it was my husband who first suggested it. I was a tough sell since my BA is in Secondary Education and I rather enjoyed teaching. However, after having our only child and seeing the direction of where the public schools were heading and observing a few impressive examples of homeschoolers whose children were nearing graduation, I was sold. Once we decided to homeschool, we did not look back!
We are in our seventh year of homeschooling and have homeschooled in three different states. By living in different states, we have seen how various groups work and to also be aware of state laws.
I have co-directed a co-op while also teaching writing and literature. In the past year, I have developed and taught essay writing to students grades six and up. I have also tutored students privately in both essay and creative writing. A student recently said, “Miss Karen, thank you for your writing class! I did great on my SAT essay!” This is in addition to the experience I have teaching World and American Literature, Film as Literature, Creative Writing, Journalism, as well as survey classes in the public school setting.
Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts in Religion from the top apologetic-based seminary, Southern Evangelical Seminary. As parents, our number one objective is to “train our children the way they should go”. My prayer is that as your consultant, I can encourage you to keep on the path the Lord has led you to.
