Lake Norman Homeschool Prom exists to serve the homeschool community in the Lake Norman area. All high school students in 9th-12th grades currently enrolled in a homeschool (and their dates) are invited to attend this formal prom.

15th Annual Zoe Homeschool Prom

Friday, April 13, 2018 from 6:30~10:30 pm

Ticket price is $50 per guest and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, beverages, ice cream

dessert bar, DJ, and photo booth.  Formal portraits will be available for purchase.

Prom is open to all homeschool students in 9th~12th grade.  Each homeschool student may invite other 9th to 12th grade homeschooled guests and one non-homeschooled guest

(must be under 21 years of age).

The prom is a formal occasion. Modest, appropriate prom attire should be worn.

Gentlemen: Suit; tuxedo; or dress slacks, buttoned-up shirt, tie and jacket. No jeans, no t-shirts.

Ladies:  Modest formal wear; All dresses should have straps (spaghetti and clear are fine), whether worn with or without a sweater.  All necklines should cover cleavage.  The dress should not be backless or “see-through”. It should not have cut-outs or nude underlays or a bare

midriff. Entire hemlines should reach the knee and skirt slits should stop before the knee.  These standards are set for modesty and comfort, especially for the dance floor.

The dress code will be enforced.

Tickets will go on sale February 1st.

Teens may request songs from the pre-approved list provided at the prom.

Please note:

This is a chaperoned event. Mature and respectful behavior is expected.  Attendees agree to respect the

authority of all chaperones and adult supervisors. Students will not be allowed in the parking lot

before 10:15 without a chaperone.

NO tobacco, alcohol or drugs, suggestive dancing, weapons of any kind, or PDA (except for holding hands.).

NCHE Homeschool Night with the Hornets!

Join homeschool family and friends at NCHE Homeschool Night when the Charlotte Hornets play the Boston Celtics!

All attendees buying their tickets through our link will receive:

  • a Hornets t-shirt
  • post-game free thrown on the Hornets NBA basketball court
  • NCHE group recognition on the Hornets scoreboard

In addition, NCHE Athletic Commission basketball players will have court time on the Hornets practice court earlier in the day.  Details to follow.

NCHE field trip: Old Salem/Candle Tea

Join other homeschoolers on December 5, learning more about Christmas customs in colonial America at Old Salem.  Choose to the Footsteps of History Tour of Old Salem or the student Candle Tea–or both!  To get our group admission price, advance reservations and payment are required.   Reservation deadline for Footsteps of History is November 3.  Candle Tea tickets are available while supply lasts.  For more details, go here:

NCHE field trip: Lazy 5 Ranch

Join other homeschoolers at the NCHE field trip to Lazy 5 Ranch! The ranch is home to more than 750 animals from six continents. As a group, we will view them from the comfort of a horse drawn wagon taking us along a 3 1/2 mile tour of the animals’ habitats. You can also drive your own vehicle along this road as well.  Advance registration and payment is required. Admission fee includes wagon tour (approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour), animal feed, the option to drive through the animals habitat areas again in your own vehicle, and access to picnic area.
