Advertising on WINGS

If you are personally offering a co-op or club for a fee or in any other way selling something, you are welcome to advertise within the following guidelines (Please do not post for-profit ventures on the forums without following these guidelines!):

• Articles (free option): One way to advertise for free is to write informative articles for our website. At the end of each helpful article you write, we will allow you to include a short blurb advertising your business. For example, if you teach classes on writing, you may write an article about practical ways parents can encourage their children to write more. At the end, you may include your contact information, a brief description of the services you offer, and a link to your website. Articles are a great way to advertise because they are permanently available and they give your business an image of being helpful and concerned. To get started, log into wingsgroup.org and visit the articles section here. Choose "Create Article" and click the "go" button located under the green menu bar.
• Note: All articles will be placed in a moderation queue to be approved before being posted. Articles must be helpful to homeschoolers and we will not allow articles that are blatant advertising.

• Signatures (free option): Another way to advertise for free is to simply add an automatic signature (such as you may already use in your e-mail responses) to the bottom of your posts. You may not directly advertise your business/classes, but you may become active on the forums by helping in your area of expertise. Forum members will see your signature on your posts and if you have been helpful, they will likely contact you about your services. This is very effective when done consistently and in a "non-salesy" manner. If you use discretion, you may also respond to inquiries people may post if you mention your services in a subtle way. • Services Forum (low-cost option): Posting in our "Services" forum will be the cheapest means of advertising directly, however this option is not yet available. We plan to have a regular forum where members can post information about their businesses/services for a very minimal fee. We will update via e-mail when this section is fully functioning or you can periodically check the forums for this new addition.

• Banner Advertising: Our banner advertising is available at varying prices starting from just $20 (subject to increase as traffic increases) and can be found in the Paid Subscriptions area. You will need to contact Danielle (jpapadpapa) first to be sure there is available space. Here are directions:

• Be sure you are logged in (or, if you have not yet registered, you will need to do that).

• Click on the pull-down menu in the green menu bar, Forum Actions → General Settings. (Or, simply click this link: http://www.wingsgroup.org/forums/payments.php and to be taken directly to the page where you will make your selection).

• Scroll down and click on Paid Subscriptions in the left side panel. This is where you will make your selection. Once you click the “Order” button, you will be taken through the process of paying via Paypal.

• E-Blast Advertising: In certain cases, we also offer the option to send e-mail advertisements to our members. Contact us at admin@wingsgroup.org to find out if this is a good fit for both of us.
