HOW TO: Creating a Signature the Simple Way

Do you want to add a bit more personalization to your signature? There are various sites you can visit to create your own banner signature very easily. They are designed for the "non-techy" users.:) Though they are probably self-explanatory for the most part, I will quickly run through a couple here.

This site requires you to sign up for a free membership. It only takes a couple minutes. Once a member, click on the above link again or go to the tab that says "tickers". There are many options here for the type of signature (or ticker, if you prefer). Choose one that you like best. Here you will be given options for creating your signature or ticker. Have fun trying various things! When you are done, click "Save My Ticker". Then, if you like what you see, click "Save and View My Code" or click "Edit" to make changes. After saving, you will be given various options of code. You will want to choose the second box that says "phpbb, vbulletin and other bb code boards". Highlight the code and copy it.

To add the code to your signature, go to your UserCP. Click "Edit Signature" in the left panel and paste the code in the window. (Note: If you are using a ticker, you will probably want to still add your own name to your signature.) That's it! Now you have a cool signature that will appear automatically any time you post. To test it out, you can make a post in the "Testing 1, 2, 3" forum.

This site is another fun one. Choose your preferred category at the top and follow the directions, clicking on the next step after you are done. In Step 3, you are given the option to enter text above the ticker. Since you are using this as a signature, you will probably want to enter your name. Once finished, click "Create Ticker". You will be given several options of code. Choose the second option, "PseudoHTML, UBB Code or BB Code". Highlight the code and copy it.

To add the code to your signature, click on "Settings" in the top right-hand corner of this page (be sure you are logged in first). Click "Edit Signature" in the left panel and paste the code in the window. That's it! Now you have a cool signature that will appear automatically any time you post. To test it out, you can make a post in the "Testing 1, 2, 3" forum.
